CJ glanced at Reggie Perrin and shook his head.
“I didn’t get where I am today without a royal warrant!” he shouted.
Reggie winced.
“Well, CJ, I’m afraid that when a monarch dies, the royal warrants don’t just roll over into the next monarch’s reign,” Reggie explained.
“The new one likes to have their say in these matters.
“There’s a new application process and lots of hoops about product quality that have to be jumped through. So, we can’t put the royal coat of arms on Sunshine Desserts packaging until we get through that process.”
CJ turned to David Harris-Jones and shouted: “Get right on it!”
David replied: “Super!”
CJ moved his attention to Tony Webster: “You, too!”
Tony replied: “Great!”
Reggie sighed.
“Before you two run around like headless chickens with clipboards, call Penarth Management. They’re helping their clients regain their royal warrants after the coronation of King Charles.”
Tony: “Great!”
David: “Super!”
Reggie sighed again.
“Ask them about Mango…”
CJ shouted: “What’s that? A new product line? Mango puddings?”
Reggie shook his head.
“No, CJ, it’s online compliance software that will help Sunshine Desserts manage the process of ensuring we have the right documents and training in place to get our royal warrant back,” he explained.
“It keeps all the documents in the cloud and cuts down on piles of paperwork. David and Tony here will be able to access everything they need wherever there’s an internet connection.”
Tony: “Great!”
David: “Super!”
Reggie sighed again and CJ stood up.
CJ said: “Well, I didn’t get where I am without being able to access my documents from the golf club! Time to tee off…”
