It is a requirement of Health & Safety law that employers should ensure the health, safety and welfare of their employees and the public. Employers must also provide adequate personnel, training and equipment to render first aid to their employees.
This course covers the practical skills needed by a first aider in the modern workplace. The course will give you the confidence and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies.

Course Details
The course will be presented in a varied and interesting way and will include:
- The role and responsibility of a first aider
- Assessing and incident
- Managing an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally
- Managing an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally
- Recognise and assist a casualty who is choking
- Managing a casualty who is wounded and bleeding
- Managing a casualty who is in shock
- Managing a casualty with a minor injury
- Administer first aid for a range of conditions
- Managing a casualty for a range of major illnesses

By the end of the course the delegate will:

Who Should Attend
The award in First Aid at Work is a qualification aimed at those who wish to become a First Aider in the workplace for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
Duration
The course is held over three days.
Assessment
Following the assessment all successful delegates will be issued with a First Aid at Work Certificate which lasts for a period of 3 years, along with a wallet-sized plastic card detailing their qualifications.
Delegates will only be registered first aiders once a paper certificate has been issued.

The course costs £250 + VAT per delegate and payment is required when booking the course.
