Introduction
The Level 2 Award in Fire Safety is a qualification aimed at anyone involved in the management of fire safety in any workplace. This includes managers, supervisors, team leaders, fire wardens (marshals) and staff working in any area where there is a potential risk of fire.
Learners gaining this qualification will know that fire safety is the responsibility of everyone in the workplace and will recognise the consequences of a fire in any premises.

The course will be presented in a varied and interesting way and will include:
- Causes of fire in the workplace
- Fire hazards
- Characteristics of fire and smoke spread
- Fire control methods
- Means of escape
- Fire detection and raising the alarm
- Extinguishing fires
- Fixed fire-fighting systems
- The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
- Legal duties and penalties
- Fire risk assessment
- Fire safety inspections
- Role of the fire warden
- Induction briefings
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course the delegate will:
- Understand the hazards and risks associated with fire in the workplace
- Understand how fire risk is controlled in the workplace
- Understand the principles and practice of fire safety management at work
- Understand the role of the nominated fire warden
Who should attend
Employees who hope to develop their basic fire safety awareness in order to assist their employer by undertaking more specific fire safety roles in the workplace to manage fire risk (e.g. as fire wardens/marshals/stewards etc.)
Duration
The course is held over one day.
Examination
The course will be assessed by a 30 minute multi-choice examination.
All successful candidates will receive the nationally recognised Level 2 Award in Fire Safety.

Fees
The course costs £195 + VAT per delegate and payment is required when booking the course.
