Intermediate Certificate in Food Safety

Introduction
The Intermediate Certificate in Food Safety course has been designed principally for those who are, or intend to be supervisors and potential managers of food handlers. The learning outcomes of this course have been designed to ensure that supervisors and potential managers are aware that, in addition to traditional hygienic practices, they should seek to identify and prevent food safety hazards at all stages in food production, preparation and service - therefore enabling food handlers to work in a safe and hygienic manner.
This 3-day training course is approved by the Royal Society for Public Health and is ideal for those working within food manufacture, retail or catering.
Although there are no formal entry requirements to complete this course, it is recommended that candidates have completed the introductory course to food hygiene (e.g. Basic Food Hygiene).
By completing this course, candidates will understand of the importance of producing safe food through the identification of food safety hazards. Candidates will also learn how hazards can be effectively controlled and monitored.
Examination
The course duration is 20 hours, followed by a single examination lasting 2 hours. During the examination, candidates will be required to answer a series of short answer questions and 3 structured questions.

This course is currently available in English, Ukrainian, Russian, Turkish, Rumanian, Polish and Hungarian. Other languages may be available on request.
Trainer
The Intermediate Certificate in Food Safety course is delivered by Jessica Robinson who has been delivering training for 8 years and has a first class honours degree in food technology. When required she is assisted by our interpreter.
